DeSantis Goes Viral in Clip Telling Students to Unmask

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has liberals in a massive tizzy today.

During a recent appearance at the University of Southern Florida, DeSantis told students they did not have to wear their masks.

Now some parents and liberals are outraged.

Your Option

The video clip of DeSantis telling the students to unmask has blown up the internet over the last day.

As DeSantis walked to the podium, he told the students they could take off their masks if they wanted to.

The governor told the students, “Please take them off.

“Honestly, it’s not doing anything.

“We’ve gotta stop with this Covid theater.

“So. if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”

Conservative pundits all celebrated the move, some liberal parents not so much.

Mind you, these are college students, adults, so it is their choice.

DeSantis clearly told the students they could keep the masks on if they wished, but they did not have to wear them on his behalf.

Even so, some parents felt like DeSantis was pressuring them to take off the masks, with a few parents even getting on the local news to call DeSantis out over the move.

DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw responded, “The kids laughed after he said it.

“They knew he wasn’t frustrated with them but with the peer pressure around masking in schools.

“As the governor said, ‘You can wear them if you want.’

“But there’s no evidence masks make any difference.

“That has been clear for a long time and the data informed our state official’s guidance.”
