One of the more entertaining stories over the weekend was Rep. Ocasio-Cortez being spotted in Miami.
The congresswoman fled the Omicron-saturated state of New York to enjoy some freedom, some maskless freedom.
AOC tried to take some cheap shots at DeSantis too, but DeSantis actually had the last laugh on this one.
Enjoy the Freedom
We all know most Democrats are hypocrites these days, and we need to look no further than AOC as a prime example.
She hammers Republicans for not wearing masks, then she travels against the advisory, heads to Miami, leaves the mask at home, and is out hugging and kissing strangers at a drag bar in Miami, the only place where she knew she would find some supporters.
AOC also called out DeSantis for not making public appearances, but that backfired big league.
As it turns out, DeSantis has been caring for his wife during her cancer treatments.
On Monday, DeSantis finally had a chance to fire back, and boy did he.
The Florida governor stated, “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man, let me tell you.
“I mean, Congress people, mayors, governors, I mean you name it.
“It’s interesting the reception that some of these folks will get in Florida because I think a lot of Floridians say wait a minute you’re bashing us because we’re not doing your draconian policies, and yet we’re the first place you want to flee to, to basically to be able to enjoy life.”
He added, “There are probably about a half dozen governors who had restrictions on their people and then were spotted at various points in Florida.
“Some of it’s been public, some of it’s not been public, but you know people tell me these things.”
