Critical Race Theory (CRT) has taken this country by storm.
Most parents had no idea this was being taught in schools.
Likewise, many Americans did not realize how commonplace this is becoming in the corporate world.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is now introducing new measures so Floridians will not have to concern themselves with this idiocy.
Stop WOKE Act
CRT is what won Glenn Youngkin the governor’s mansion in Virginia.
This was a significant upset, so we expect the entire GOP to latch onto this, especially in battleground states.
DeSantis, in March, stated, “Florida’s civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories.”
He continued, “Let me be clear: There is no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory.
“Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”
This new bill goes far beyond the classroom, however.
DeSantis’ office stated, “Now the progressive activists’ CRT agenda is not only in education, but also in corporate boardrooms and employee trainings at some of America’s most powerful corporations.
“Workers are subjected to trainings pushing the falsehoods that America is a ‘white supremacist’ country, and that white Americans are ‘raised to be racist’ from early childhood.
“These divisive narratives and indoctrination programs create a hostile environment in violation of our laws and principles.”
The Stop Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees Act (Stop W.O.K.E. Act) will directly take on CRT in both the classroom and the business world.
This will open the door to significant lawsuits in the state by providing employees with private cause to take action.
Democrats will fight this tooth-and-nail, yet they will at the same time say CRT does not exist.
So, if it does not exist, then why fight the legislation?
