Joe Biden vowed to stay of the business of the Department of Justice, but that has never been the case.
Merrick Garland had been doing Joe Biden’s bidding since he took office, and it now appears as though Biden has given him the order to attack.
Biden, on Friday, told reporters that anyone in the January 6 probe that defies subpoenas should be prosecuted, which is a major no-no.
No Influence
I would have no problem with a sitting president saying how he felt about a case in a normal world, but this is not a normal world.
Every time Trump interjected about a case, the media and Democrats lost their minds that he influenced the Department of Justice.
This particular case is a double whammy for Biden because of the political nature of the subject.
Yet, Biden did not stay out of it and allow the DOJ to do its thing.
When he was asked about those defying subpoenas to appear before the January 6 panel, he stated, “I hope the committee goes after them and holds accountable.”
A reporter followed up, “Should they be prosecuted?”
Joe immediately shot back, “I do, yes.”
Now, keep in mind, these are all former Trump staffers of which he is speaking.
Jen Psaki immediately went into damage control…
As @potus has said many times, January 6th was one of the darkest days in our democracy. He supports the work of the committee and the independent role of the Department of Justice to make any decisions about prosecutions.

DOJ spokesman Anthony Coley also responded, stating, “The Department of Justice will make its own independent decisions in all prosecutions based solely on the facts and the law. Period. Full stop.”
Biden has now handcuffed the DOJ because if it does go after these individuals, it will appear as though it is doing it because Joe Biden wants it done.
I thought you were all out of things to screw up, Joe, but you have proven me wrong.
