Gerrymandering is something that comes up quite a bit these days.
Everyone complains about the other party but nobody ever does anything about it.
Well, that was the case until now.
Sue Them!
Even though Texas has seen a surge of blue voters in recent years, Republicans still control the state.
As such, it is their prerogative to redraw district lines for elections.
Mind you, this is happening in almost every state in the country, including blue states squeezing out red districts to oust Republicans from the House.
Of all the states that are redrawing lines, however, Joe Biden’s DOJ is only going after one state… Texas, the state it hopes to turn to blue in the next election.
Once again, the DOJ is playing the race card, taking the stance that the new lines make minority votes less powerful.
Garland, only moments ago, announced that the DOJ is suing the state of Texas… again.
AG Merrick Garland stated, “The department’s career voting law experts have assessed Texas’s new redistricting plans and determined that they include districts that violate the Voting Rights Act.
“This is not the first time that Texas has acted to minimize the voting rights of its minority citizens.
“Decade after decade, courts have found that Texas has enacted redistricting plans that deliberately dilute the voting strength of Latino and Black voters and that violate the Voting Rights Act.”
Merrick Garland has proven time and again that he is nothing more than Joe Biden’s attack dog, basically everything that Democrats accused Session and Barr of being for Trump.
They are also possibly kicking open a door that will come back to haunt them.
Believe me, if the DOJ beats the odds and wins this case, Republicans will be in full attack mode when they regain the White House by going after blue states that regularly squeeze conservative districts.
We expect Governor Abbott to make a statement on this very soon, so we will update as necessary.
