This week, someone on the White House social media team thought it would be a good idea to brag about $0.16 savings for this year’s BBQ.
The tweet backfired on two different levels.
First, the claim was debunked by a report from the Department of Agriculture.
Second, Doocy teed off on White House Press Secretary and just made her look foolish.
Epic Exchange
I have been getting all over Doocy for not hitting Psaki better on follow-up questions.
He must have heard me because he absolutely obliterated Psaki this time around.
Doocy brought up the tweet, comparing the miniscule savings, if they actually even exist, to gas prices that are blowing up right now.
He asked Psaki, “So does the White House think that $0.16 off a barbecue has more of an impact on people’s lives than gas being a dollar more [than this time last year]?”
Psaki’s defense of the tweet was, “I would say if you don’t like hot dogs, you may not care of the reduction of costs. You don’t have to like hot dogs.”
She was clearly trying to crack a joke, but it did not work.
Here is the exchange…

Psaki was going down in flames before another reporter saved her, but it just shows how ridiculous this administration is.
Well done, Mr. Doocy.
And Happy Independence Day to all our readers.
We hope you put that $0.16 to good use!
