Late Tuesday, the country got flipped on its ear when the CDC changed its indoor mask guidelines.
Now, even the vaccinated are expected to wear masks indoors, which has a lot of people asking a lot of questions, including Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
Psaki made the mistake of calling on Doocy after the new guidelines came out, and he made her pay for it.
Because We Said So
We have yet to see a report with science backing up the need for vaccinated people to wear masks when indoors.
On the surface, this appears to be a struggling administration hitting the panic button.
After the new guidance was announced, Fox News Peter Doocy went right after White House Press Secretary, asking her, “Why do vaccinated people need to put the masks back on?”
Ironically, Psaki was standing right in front of a visual touting the effectiveness of the vaccine.
She gave a rambling answer, but Doocy cut her off, again asking, “If vaccines work — this sign says that they do — then why do people who have the vaccine need to now wear masks the same as people who have not had it?”
Psaki abruptly and clearly agitated, answered, “Because the public health leaders in our administration have made the determination, based on data, that that is a way to make sure they are protected, their loved ones are protected, that is an extra step given the transmissibility of the virus.”
Here is the full exchange…
Now, to me, that sounded like, “because we say so, that’s why,” but I could be wrong.
Keep in mind, it was only last week that Joe Biden told the few people watching his town hall that if you got the vaccine, you could not get COVID.
That was an obviously false statement, but had I been in Doocy’s chair, I would have thrown it at Psaki as soon as she started to talk about people with the vaccine contracting COVID.
The house of cards that is the Biden administration is already crumbling, and the wind has not even picked up yet!
