Fox News’ Peter Doocy is having a really good week.
After serving up a plate of crow to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, he set his sights on John Kirby.
Doocy allowed Kirby, like Jean-Pierre, to spin himself right into a corner.
Not What Joe Said
To appreciate the spin offered up by Kirby, you need to hear what Joe Biden said last August…
No ifs, ands, or but’s, right? They are gone.
Yet, when Doocy challenged Kirby on that, Kirby acted as though that was never said.
He stated, “They weren’t playing a major role in operations or resourcing or planning in Afghanistan.
“But Peter, I know specifically because I was at a different podium a year ago and we talked about the fact that al-Qaida had a presence in Afghanistan, but small and not incredibly powerful or potent.
“And, I think, again without getting into numbers, we would still assess that to be the case.”

Now, keep in mind, al-Zawahiri was lounging on his balcony, right out in the open, as he apparently did every day, when he was killed.
If that does not tell you that Afghanistan is now a breeding ground for terrorist operations, well, nothing will.
