Chinese Foreign Minister Dresses Down Blinken in Public… Again

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has proven to be a complete disaster since taking over that post.

He has either seemed confused or weak in just about every setting, with the latter being the case in the most recent incident.

Yet again, a Chinese diplomat has made Blinken look foolish on a world stage.

No Respect

The G20 summit saw America take it on the chin on numerous occasions.

Joe Biden was treated like the cooky old uncle of the family that everyone just puts up with when he shows up at family functions.

Secretary of State Blinken was not much better.

When Blinken met with his Chinese counterpart, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, he was berated by the Chinese official as though he was a schoolboy.

Wang reportedly stated, “The crux of the current situation across the Taiwan Strait is because the Taiwan authorities have repeatedly tried to break through the one-China framework, and the United States’ connivance and support for ‘Taiwan independence’ forces is also to blame.

“We urge the United States to realize the serious harm of the ‘Taiwan independence,’ to pursue a real one-China policy, instead of a fake one, to fulfill its commitments to China faithfully rather than treacherously.”

Blinken, embarrassingly, did not even attempt to push back.

It was eerily reminiscent of the first dressing down when during all the Black Lives Matter protests in this country, with China openly challenging the United States on its moral authority.

In that case, Blinken actually agreed, telling his counterpart, “We know we have work to do at home.”

Keep in mind, this is coming from China, one of the biggest human rights violators in the world.

Blinken, when questioned about the interaction, dumped even more on the United States, saying, “We will hear from some countries [such as China], as we do other years, that we have no right to criticize them because we have our own challenges to deal with.

“Well, we know we have work to do at home that includes addressing profound inequities, including systemic racism.”

Compare that to the reaction someone like Mike Pompeo would have had.

Correction, Pompeo would have never been put in that position because China dared not talk to US officials like that when the previous administration was in office.
