Facebook Announces The End

Mark Zuckerberg has made at least a few mistakes during his time.

At least he’s willing to admit this one.

Facebook’s venture into crypto has been such a failure that it’s shutting down.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook, recently announced that their venture into cryptocurrency had tanked.

“Novi,” the short-lived crypto system just recently announced by Facebook will shut down near the end of the summer.

September 1 is the date that Novi gave its users as their final chance:

“Novi will no longer be available for use after September 1,” the message said.

Customers are being urged to “withdraw any remaining balance in your Novi account before that date.”

Novi was created to accommodate Facebook’s Diem cryptocurrency, a thing that was abandoned in early 2022.

The entire crypto market seems to be being called into question lately, as severe drops in the value of bitcoin have sent the market into turmoil.
