“Meet the Press” has been suffering a huge rating decline this year.

Chuck Todd, the host of the show, has been one of the most prominent left-leaning journalists that have been pushing narratives rather than actual news.

\n

His transgression now reportedly has the new executive producer looking at whether or not to replace Todd on the show.

\n

“Meet the Press” is and has been a staple on the weekend circuit, but ratings have been crashing.

\n

Todd has fallen into the same trap that many other journalists have.

\n

Rather than simply reporting the news, he is pushing an anti-conservative narrative.

\n

A former CNN staffer, David Gelles, is taking over as the show’s executive producer, and he is reportedly looking to shake things up.

\n

One “Meet the Press” staffer believes they really need to start looking at the face of the show as the reason for the bad ratings.

\n

The staffer told the Daily Beast anonymously, “At what point does anyone have the balls to say, ‘Maybe the problem is the face of it?'”

\n

Word is out, with Todd taking a nasty jab from Trevor Noah at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

\n

Noah asked him, “How are you doing?”

\n

Then dropped a punch line, stating, “I’d ask a follow-up, but I know you don’t know what those are.”

\n

If Todd is replaced, the consensus is that Kristen Welker, a longtime White House correspondent, would be his likely replacement.

It would appear as though Donald Trump is getting loaded for bear amid the DOJ probe into the storage of documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump has added former Florida Solicitor General Chris Kise to his legal team.

\n

Kise is expected to jump in right away, more than likely appearing in court during a hearing on Thursday for Trump.

\n

Big Guns

\n

Kise worked for the powerhouse firm of Foley & Lardner as well as the solicitor general for Florida.

\n

He has experience arguing cases before the Supreme Court, so Trump is clearly digging in here.

\n

Kise’s first assignment will be in fighting the DOJ for a Special Master to be appointed to review documents taken from Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.

\n

Even though the DOJ announced its vetting team has already reviewed the documents for privileged communications, Trump’s team will push forward on this request.

\n

The ultimate goal is to find additional documents to hurt the DOJ’s case against Trump for taking privileged information it was not entitled to view during the raid.

\n

The upcoming filing will be argued before Judge Cannon, who has already stated she is inclined to allow a Special Master, which the DOJ is already pushing back on.

Yet another “Sopranos” actor has passed away.

\n

Robert LuPone, who played Tony’s neighbor and family doctor, Dr. Bruce Cusamano, on “The Sopranos,” passed away on Saturday.

\n

He was 76 years old.

\n

The Sopranos Curse

\n

LuPone was best-known to TV fans for playing Tony’s neighbor, but he was far more accomplished than just that show.

\n

In fact, he co-founded the Manhattan Class Company Theater (MCC).

\n

Under his guidance, MCC was considered a powerhouse in the theater industry.

\n

It had produced such hits as “Frozen,” “Reasons to be Pretty,” and Pulitzer Prize-winning “Wit.”

\n

LuPone was also an accomplished stage actor, having been nominated for a Tony during the original running of “A Chorus Line.”

\n

MCC announced his death this week: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that MCC founding Co-Artistic Director, Bob LuPone, passed away Saturday, Aug 27 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.”

\n

His agent, Penny Luedtke, added, “He was love, light, creativity and lots of fun.”

\n

LuPone started acting in the 1970s, with his first credit being a dancer role in “Song of Norway,” and his first character role in 1973’s “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

\n

In the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, he was a regular on several soap operas, including “All My Children” and “Ryan’s Hope.”

\n

His last major role in a soap was playing Leo Flynn on the “Guiding Light” from 1989 to 1997.

\n

LuPone has been battling pancreatic cancer for the last three years, finally succumbing to the disease.

\n

He now joins an increasingly growing list of former “Sopranos” stars who have passed away in recent months.

Herschel Walker has made a huge move in the latest Emerson College poll.

\n

He has not only caught up to Senator Warnock (D-GA), but he has passed him to take a two-point lead.

Momentum is clearly on Walker\u2019s side, and that is great news.

I have often stated that I liked Walker, but I thought he was a weak candidate, albeit for fixable reasons.

Scandals have rocked Warnock over the last two weeks, which undoubtedly played into this swing.

Between that and Walker getting into a better groove publicly, he has shed what was once a double-digit deficit and taken a two-point lead.

He is also beating Warnock in approval rating.

\n

I cannot stress enough how big this is in terms of Republicans being able to take the Senate.

While Oz is still trailing in PA, Blake Masters has also gained some ground in Arizona, finally within striking distance.

If the GOP can win two of these three races, I firmly believe they will take the Senate back from Democrats.

One of the brightest rising stars in the country music scene has passed away.

Luke Bell, who has really taken off over the last six years, is dead.

\n

After being reported missing on August 20, his body was found on Monday in Tucson, AZ.

Sad Day

\n

Bell went old school to make it in the industry.

\n

He picked up everything and moved to Texas to earn his way playing local honky-tonks.

\n

Then he went to New Orleans for a spell, finally winding up in Nashville.

\n

In 2016, he released a self-titled album that got a lot of attention.

\n

In fact, there were comparisons to Waylon Jennings.

\n

Bell\u2019s friend, fellow singer Matt Kinman confirmed the death.

\n

While no cause of death was listed, Kinman did say that Bell was bipolar and recently underwent a medication change, which could have contributed to his death.

Well, now I have seen it all.

There is a case up for the Supreme Court that is a very near and dear subject to two justices on either side of the aisle.

\n

Because of that, it would more than likely result in an overturned precedent, quite possibly by a unanimous vote.

\n

Yet, the Biden administration is hoping to have the case refused by the Supreme Court.

\n

Only in Certain Cases

\n

For all the take that Biden does about giving all races of people their due, it sure looks to me like he is now trying to keep his boot on the throat of the American Samoans.

\n

Citizenship rights for American Samoans is a passionate subject for Justice Neil Gorsuch and Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

\n

The case Fitisemanu v. U.S. could possibly overturn a long-standing precedent on this front, one that both justices have called racist in nature.

\n

Yet, Justice Department Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar wants the court to say \u201cno\u201d to the case.

\n

In a brief sent to the Supreme Court, she stated, \u201cThe government in no way relies on the indefensible and discredited aspects of the Insular Cases\u2019 reasoning and rhetoric.

\n

\u201cThis case would be an unsuitable vehicle for reexamining those cases.\u201d

\n

Neil Weare, president and founder of Equally American, ripped the administration for trying to sway the court.

\n

He stated, \u201cIt is shocking that the Biden-Harris Administration and the Solicitor General continue to breathe life into the Insular Cases, which were grounded in a vision of white supremacy that has no place in our society, much less briefs filed by the U.S. Justice Department.\u201d

\n

This should all play out within the next few months, as we expect the court to announce its decision before the end of the year.

Democrat Beto O’Rourke cannot afford any bumps in the road during this campaign to take out Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Abbott has about a seven-point lead against O’Rourke and the clock is ticking.

\n

That lead will likely grow now, as O’Rourke has been sidelined after being diagnosed with a “bacterial infection.”

\n

Sit It Out

\n

O’Rourke has been trying to barnstorm the state to get some momentum.

\n

He is already up against it, as there are simply not enough liberal pockets throughout the state for a statewide Democrat win.

\n

Getting sidelined like this will hurt his chances even more.

\n

O’Rourke broke the news to his supporters, stating, “After feeling ill on Friday, I went to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio where I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection.

\n

“The extraordinary team there \u2014 from custodians to nurses and doctors \u2014 gave me excellent care and attention, including IV antibiotics and rest.”

\n

He added, “While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations.

\n

“I am sorry to have had to postpone events because of this, but promise to be back on the road with you as soon as I am able.”

As of August 19, Governor Abbott was leading O’Rourke 49.3 to 40.4.

The city of Roanoke, TX, got a rather significant shock to the system this weekend.

There was a “kid-friendly” drag event at Anderson Distillery and Grill on the main strip in what is usually a very quiet, very conservative Texas suburb community.

Needless to say, it did not go over well with the local community, especially when alleged ANTIFA members showed up to provide security.

\n

Take Over

\n

Roanoke is a growing city, but it is still a baby, relatively speaking.

\n

There are less than 20,000 residents, with a quant downtown area of shops and restaurants (the 2020 census was just more than 8,000, but the community has grown significantly since then).

\n

On Sunday, the streets are empty until about noon, when locals leave local services and head out for lunch with their families.

\n

That serenity was traded out for a packed Oak Street, full with men making out in the street to make a point and drag queens in skimpy outfits taking $1 bills off children.

There are mixed reports as to how the alleged ANTIFA members came to provide security.

\n

The local scuttlebutt is that the owner hired them, but I also saw a lot of chatter on social media just encouraging them to show up to “protect” the people going to the show.

\n

From what I have been able to gather, chatter started online trying to paint the local community in Roanoke as racist and homophobic.

\n

The group then offered to provide protection to customers attending the drag show, and that offer was apparently accepted.

\n

Andy Ngo, a legitimate ANTIFA expert, tracked the group down to a local chapter of the John Brown Gun Club (Elm Fork)\u2026

Residents better buckle down, as ownership posted on Facebook that this is the first of what appear to be many future shows\u2026

That is all well and good, but unless the local community supports this restaurant, it will never succeed.

\n

Considering the size of the space, it will be an awfully expensive political statement by ownership and not exactly the way to elicit a “welcome” from local community members.

\n

One final note, notice in the post that it says “love won today,” yet the local community was intimidated purposely by the alleged ANTIFA members, not to mention how they dumped on the local community, as you heard, in the first video.

That is an awfully strange definition of love.
