Florida Shuts Down Monoclonal Antibody Sites

Even though Omicron is the dominant strain of COVID right now, it is not the only strain.

Even so, the FDA has decided to rescind emergency use authorization for bamlanivimab and etesevimab (used together) as well as the combination of casirivimab and imdevimab known as REGEN-COV, or Regeneron, to treat COVID.

Since the Florida Department of Health can no longer get the treatments it needs for its residents, it is shuttering the treatment sites.

Shut It Down

About two weeks ago, the announcement came down that the government was halting the distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments that were ineffective against Omicron.

At the time, DeSantis and Florida health officials pushed back, specifically stating that they still had patients getting Delta, and these treatments were needed.

Biden and company, however, are not listening, and now the supply chain is getting closed.

Remember, after it was proven that these treatments worked, the Biden administration took over the supply, with the only distribution channel then being the federal government.

The Florida Department of Health stated, “Unfortunately, as a result of this abrupt decision made by the federal government, all monoclonal antibody state sites will be closed until further notice.”

Florida Deputy Secretary for Health Kenneth A. Scheppke further noted that even though the FDA has stated if the treatments were needed for specific patients, the treatment would be released, Florida’s request for the therapeutics was never granted.

He stated, “While we were hopeful to immediately connect on this timely and important issue, unfortunately, you were no longer able to accommodate our request for a call today and canceled.

“We believe the decision to delay our meeting was made with the awareness that this would be announced.

“Rather than transparent communication from the federal government to states, decisions continue to be made through news cycles and this actively prevents states from making operational decisions that actively save lives.”

Governor DeSantis also slammed the decision, stating, “Without a shred of clinical data to support this action, Biden has forced trained medical professionals to choose between treating their patients or breaking the law.

“This indefensible edict takes treatment out of the hands of medical professionals and will cost some Americans their lives.

“There are real-world implications to Biden’s medical authoritarianism – Americans’ access to treatments is now subject to the whims of a failing president.”

So, you want a taste of what socialism looks like…

Your doctor can literally prescribe one of these treatments and you cannot get the medication because Joe Biden’s FDA said no.

Let that sink in for a moment.

What do you think of the FDA blocking these treatments for COVID patients?
