How many times have we been warned about terrorist prisoners being released from Guantanamo Bay would come back to haunt us?
That was one of the driving forces of Trump keeping the facility open.
Biden changed that and has already made a release, with more to come in the near future.
Well, if you were watching your TV this weekend, you saw the real-life repercussions of those actions.
A Taliban leader that led the terrorists into Afghanistan to overtake the capital city claimed to have been a resident in Guantanamo Bay for eight years.
The Taliban has reportedly been patient in that it is allowing US personnel to leave the area without confrontation.
Make no mistake about it, though, because as soon as the last chopper leaves the ground and our people are out of there, the Taliban plans on claiming a complete and utter victory over the United States and the Afghanistan government.
Now, there is again the worry that Afghanistan will provide a safe haven for terrorists.
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace stated, “I’m absolutely worried that failed states are breeding grounds for those types of people. Al Qaeda will probably come back.”
Sadly, he is probably right.
Our own defense department has detected activity, openly stating that it could be a resurgence of al Qaeda.
The threat level was also reportedly raised due to these concerns.
Joe Biden has not even hit his seven-month anniversary in office yet, and he has already destroyed two countries.
