The Virginia home of Jeffrey Clark, a former Donald Trump Department of Justice official, has been raided by federal officers.
The US Attorney’s Office in DC has confirmed the report.
Clark’s home is located in Virginia, apparently targeted as part of the January 6 Select Committee investigation.
Here We Go…
The raid on Clark’s home was announced the same day that the committee stated it had come across a slew of new evidence.
No information was given as to the raid’s purpose, but it did not go over too well in the conservative community, especially among Trump supporters.
Clark was believed to have been helping Trump reach out to election officials and secretaries of state to investigate elections.
Again, we have to be very careful about the language used here because the committee uses the term “overturn,” but I have not seen evidence of that.
Make no mistake about it, Trump wanted the states investigated for possible voter fraud, but I have not seen any evidence where he was trying to get them to overrule the election results outright.
The January 6 Select Committee is expected to call Clark and drill him on actually what measures were being put in place to challenge the election results.
Thus far, the hearings have not produced any new evidence, but it has been a Hollywood-worthy production with a Hollywood producer and a TV star in the gallery.
So, I am curious about what “new evidence” the committee found that justified this raid.
