Missing Person
Early Saturday, Durham Police were notified that 22-year-old Vincenzo Lirosi had gone missing.
Lirosi had been out drinking with friends and had suddenly disappeared.
According to reports, he had no phone and no money when he disappeared.
His friends believed that he had taken a shortcut through a wooded area from where they had been drinking to his own residence.
The last time his friends had seen him was early afternoon on Saturday.
When he did not show up back at home, he was reported missing just a few hours later.
A search team was put together, including a K-9 unit, which found his body in the marsh.
The search also included members of the New Hampshire State Police, New Hampshire Fish and Game, and the University of New Hampshire Police Department.
Durham Police Chief Rene Kelley stated, “Though this is not the outcome we had all hoped for, we are grateful that we were able to find Vincenzo and bring some closure to his family.”
Later, more details were provided, finding that Lirosi was allegedly involved in a fight at the party.
His friend, Jordan Blanchard, stated, “It’s pretty uncharacteristic of him.
“This is his first fight ever.”
The University of New Hampshire also released a statement, “This is a very sad day for our community and right now we are focused on providing the support and resources needed for everyone who knew him or is impacted by his death.”
Even with the added information, authorities are stating that there are no “suspicious” circumstances surrounding his death.
