Last week and earlier this week, Democrats threw everything they had at the Virginia governor’s race.
It appears that it did more harm than good.
After Jill Biden, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Stacey Abrams made appearances and Kamala Harris videos being played in 300 churches, Glenn Youngkin still took the lead against McAuliffe.
Can He Really Win?
This is just one poll, but it does back the trend that we have seen in the state.
Prior to the Fox News poll, most outlets had this in a dead heat before all the big star power made its way to Virginia.
Fox News is the first poll to be conducted that I have seen after the visits, and the news is not good for Democrats.
McAuliffe went from leading or a tie to being down eight full points.
The Fox News Poll had it a 53-45 in favor of Youngkin.
The big factor in the poll was parents, who went with Youngkin by a 14 percent margin.
Youngkin was on the campaign trail when the poll was published, and he loved calling out the results to his supporters…

The other aspect of the poll that is extremely telling is the motivation factor for Youngkin.
His supporters are by far more interested in getting to the poll on Tuesday to pull the handle for him (79-69).
Democratic pollster Chris Anderson has officially hit the panic button here.
Anderson stated, “With the race essentially tied among the full registered voter universe, McAuliffe could still pull this off.
“But it would take something big to ignite enthusiasm for McAuliffe’s candidacy and a massively effective get out the vote effort.”
If McAuliffe does not get out there and start knocking on some doors and get out of his comfort zone, this could go from being a win, to a close race, to an embarrassing loss, which would just be devastating to the Biden administration.
