DeSantis Received Millions in Taxpayer Funds for Campaign

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has a big decision to make.

Florida has a ridiculous law on the books that offers match donations to campaigns.

DeSantis, who is currently leading the pack in the state for election donations, was awarded roughly $3.5 million in taxpayer money to add to his war chest.

He should give it back.

Don’t Take It, Ron

There is no way taxpayers should be ponying up cash for elections unless they do so willingly.

To tap into funds for millions of dollars is utterly ridiculous and DeSantis needs to follow the lead of his predecessors and refuse the money.

The law has been on the books for years, but some notable Republicans have turned away the case rather than burden taxpayers with this tab.

Both Rick Scott and Jeb Bush being among the most recent.

This is a make-or-break moment in my eyes for DeSantis.

If he keeps this money, he puts himself in with the swamp.

Honestly, the fact that it has even gotten to this point and we have to put pressure on him to return the funds is a bit of a disgrace in my eyes.

I may be in the minority here thinking that taking this cash is slimy, but that is my honest opinion.

I am against this on a federal level, so I am surely against it on a state level.

Do the right thing, Ron… give back the cash.
