Every underdog needs a good story to rally behind to beat overwhelming forces.
With Ukraine and Russia, that story could be the Ghost of Kyiv.
While the reports are unconfirmed, Ukraine has an Ace pilot that has allegedly knocked six Russian aircraft out of the sky.
Is He Real?
Russia has lost far more troops and aircraft already than it probably thought it would for the duration of this conflict.
Most expected Russia to gain air superiority almost immediately, but that has not happened.
We have seen pictures of downed aircraft in the streets of Ukraine.
All the while, there is a legend that started to gain traction that an Ace pilot for Ukraine is responsible for at least six downed Russian fighters.
There is reportedly a Ukrainian fighter pilot who has taken out 6 Russian jets in air to air combat. He is being called the "Ghost of Kyiv"pic.twitter.com/zCdK2URsHM

This is the type of story that rallies people to fight and overcome overwhelming odds, so it is no surprise people are grasping onto this tale in the hopes that it is true.
I want so badly for the 'Ghost of Kyiv' MIG-29 air ace RUMINT to be true

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has confirmed that five Russian aircraft have been shot down, along with two helicopters, five tanks, and roughly 800 Russian troop losses.
I’m begging major media to report on whether “The Ghost of Kyiv” really exists—as if it’s true that today a heroic Ukrainian fighter pilot single-handedly downed *6* Russian jets, this flying ace immediately becomes a stirring symbol of Ukraine’s resistance to Putin’s war crimes. pic.twitter.com/Nmlu68Fknj

So far, the Ukrainian people are fighting bravely, but can they hold?
In the meantime, there are already reports that Putin is now willing to sit down and talk with Ukraine to find a diplomatic resolution.
The fact that Putin is already looking to talk tends to lead us to believe the fighting is far more difficult than he had ever imagined.
