The gauntlet has been thrown down in the state of Texas.
With federal vaccine mandate deadlines starting to come into play in private sectors, putting hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk, Governor Abbott just stepped in for Texans.
On Monday, Abbott signed an Executive Order to ban “any entity” from enforcing the vaccine mandate.

Abbott, in introducing the new EO, stated, “The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced.”
This is now setting up the state of Texas for a massive battle against the federal government.
We have already seen what is happening at schools, and now businesses are forcing similar situations with those not wanting to get the jab for whatever reason.
Where this new order gets interesting is with Southwest Airlines.
The federal government wants vaccine mandates in play in the airline industry, and most have complied.
However, Southwest Airlines, which is already having its fair share of problems, is headquartered in Texas, so we can expect a significant suit coming out of this executive order to challenge vaccine mandates for employees and/or travel mandates by the federal government for travel.
The new order covers consumers as well as employees that do not want to take the jab for “religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19.”
Abbott stated, “In yet another instance of federal government overreach, the Biden Administration is now bullying many private entities into imposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates, causing workforce disruptions that threaten Texas’s continued recovery from the COVID-19 disaster.”
Texas currently sits at 52 percent fully vaccinated, but I would wager a significant number of those not yet vaccinated have had COVID and still have active antibodies present in their system.
Texas has a population of about 29 million, and there have been more than four million cases reported in the state, so you can do the math in terms of the unvaccinated and those that have recovered from COVID with natural antibodies.
Dig in, folks, because Texas has just laid down the gauntlet with both liberals and the federal government.
