While Democrats are supporting Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on the surface, that is not necessarily the case behind closed doors.
A recent report has surfaced that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer rang the bell during a recent meeting.
The Daily News has reported that Whitmer, in a meeting, called Biden’s mandate a “problem” for her constituents.
Pushing Back
I have been advocating against the mandate from the very outset.
My opinion was that this mandate would cost tens of thousands of Americans their job over a Gen1 vaccine.
I completely understand people’s need for more data, and that does not make me or anyone wanting this data an anti-vaxxer, it just means you are being cautious, especially if you have already had COVID and still have active antibodies from your recovery.
Coming out of this pandemic, we simply cannot be terminating people for this reason.
Whitmer seems to have finally been hit over the head with a dose of reality after having destroyed her state’s economy with these mandates and lockdowns.
According to the Daily News, Whitmer stated, “We’re an employer too, the state of Michigan is. I know if that mandate happens, we’re going to lose state employees.
“That’s why I haven’t proposed a mandate at the state level.
“Some states have. We have not, we’re waiting to see what happens in court.”
Some business owners have come to Whitmer personally expressing their concerns about the mandate.
They know they would be forced to terminate employees that have spent decades with them, and now they are expected just to hand them a pink slip.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) is on the same page, stating that Biden wants to penalize people when he should be incentivizing them.
Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) has also pushed back, joining Manchin to vote against Biden’s mandate in the Senate.
This entire movement by Biden is now falling apart from the inside out, and it will do more so as more and more data is produced showing how this virus now seems to be mutating but dying out at the same time.
Thus far, the Omicron variant is more contagious because it is a new strain, but it is not nearly as lethal as other variants.
