Yesterday we reported Governor Abbott was underwater for the first time in his career as the governor of Texas.
We also specifically stated that part of the reason is the attacks that have come against him from within his own party.
The nature of the attacks could possibly keep voters away come election day, which is concerning, especially now.
I say this because reports have surfaced that Beto O’Rourke is considering a run at the mansion.
Could He Win?
We all know Texas has been invaded by California liberals in recent years.
During the pandemic, that has increased, and these people are not happy with Governor Abbott.
Ironically, they are upset with him for the very reason they fled from California and other liberal states.
While I don’t always agree with Abbott, I believe he, overall, has done a good job for Texas.
A little more than a year ago, Abbott’s approval rating was about 20 points to the good.
Yet, suddenly he faces RINO attacks from his own party and challenges from some high-profile conservatives (most notably, Allen West and Chad Prather).
O’Rourke is a clown, but he is a popular clown… someone that could win the nomination in the Democrat Party because of the sheer volume of liberals living in the state that buy into his extremist agenda.
He also has star power behind him, which means liberal donors would open their checkbooks to get a him into office if they thought he had a real shot to win.
We have seen the damage that Joe Biden has done to the country because people did not like Trump’s personality, so imagine how much damage someone like Beto could do to Texas if he moved into the governor’s digs.
This is not a joke, as recent polling has Matthew McConaughey ahead of Abbott and O’Rourke within five points of him.
Texas is very much in danger of getting turned blue, which would be a disaster for Texas and the entire country.
Just imagine the damage that could be done on immigration alone… it sickens me to even think about it.
