Last week, Rep. Cawthorn (R-N.C.) made salacious allegations against his fellow members of Congress.
Cawthorn claimed that he had been witness to hard drug usage as well as being invited to sex parties.
Former congressman Trey Gowdy is now telling Cawthorn the time has come to put up or shut up.
Bogus Allegations
When Cawthorn first made the allegations, it sounded like deflection to get away from his own negative headlines.
House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) immediately called Cawthorn out on the matter.
He also stated that the claims made by Cawthorn were completely unfounded.
Cawthorn has gone from rising star to court jester during his very polarizing first term in office.
There are those that have embraced him, while others are clearly keeping their distance.
Former President Trump continues to embrace Cawthorn, even allowing him to speak at one of his recent rallies.
Gowdy believes that Cawthorn needs to put up or shut up.
In part, he stated, “My question for the congressman is simply this: Who? Give us the names.
“If you’re being invited to cocaine parties by colleagues, tell us who invited you? Who used illicit drugs in front of you? Who broke the very laws they passed, and expect to us follow?
“Which of your colleagues believes he or she is above the law? Who is doubling as a deviant by night while talking about family values by day? …The good ones don’t make the news. The bad ones get all of the attention.
“This modern obsession with negativity does not need to be enhanced by exaggeration.”

I agree… if Cawthorn cannot provide names, he only feeds the fire that the right is filled with a bunch of conspiracy lunatics.
We just do not need these distractions.
On the other hand, if he can provide names, Democrats or Republicans, name them, investigate them, and kick them out of Congress.
