It looks like a local prosecutor is going to get her big headline after all, eventually.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was refusing to show up to testify before a grand jury in the Georgia election investigation.
Last week, he challenged the subpoena, but a federal judge has rejected his case.
Waste of Time
Graham did not want to appear before the grand jury because he believes he has nothing to contribute to the case.
He even made his case publicly by stating that he voted to certify the election.
His point being that the local prosecutor is playing politics and hoping to make headlines by having him on the stand.
Judge Leigh Martin May stated there were “considerable areas of potential grand jury inquiry” that are outside of the congressional protections.
May, as you might have guessed, was appointed by Barack Obama.
Graham’s office responded, “Here, Senator Graham was doing his due diligence before the Electoral Count Act certification vote — where he voted to certify the election.
“Although the district court acknowledged that Speech or Debate may protect some of Senator Graham’s activities, she nevertheless ignored the constitutional text and binding Supreme Court precedent, so Senator Graham plans to appeal to the 11th Circuit.”
So, it appears that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will have to wait a few more days for her big headlines.
