NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent Ali Vitali has a new book, “Electable.”
It is a rehash of the run-up to the 2020 election.
It also happens to feature more venom by Hillary Clinton.
If you recall, during the election, there was a moment when Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders had a bit of a tiff.
Well, now Hillary is adding her two cents to that debate
Warren would later claim that Sanders told her a woman could not win the presidency.
As a tangent on that subject, Warren now claims that “everyone” told her that they would vote for her if she had a penis.
Sanders denied ever having said such a thing during a live debate, which led to a direct altercation between the two.
Hillary, on Sanders, stated, “I believed her [Warren], because I know Sanders, and I know the kind of things that he says about women and to women.
“So, I thought that she was telling an accurate version of the conversation they’d had.”
She continued, “I wish she had done it on mic. I wish that she had pushed back in front of everybody. I think it weakened her response that it was after the cameras were supposedly off and, you know, they were just standing there.
“I think it’s important that you call it out when it happens, and that was my only regret for her: that I wish she had just turned on him and said, ‘You know, it’s one thing to mislead people about your healthcare plan. It’s another thing to tell someone to her face that a conversation which you know happened didn’t happen.’
“I mean, that would have been, I think, a really important moment for her.”
Yet, had Bernie Sanders won the nomination, Warren, Clinton, and every other female in the party would have supported him.
One thing I would note, however, is that Warren did get her revenge.
If you recall, she hung around the race just long enough to steal enough delegates away from Bernie that it kept Joe Biden in the race.
Had Warren bowed out about a week earlier, I think Joe would have been dead in the water and Sanders would have walked into the nomination.
