Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is on a bit of a roll.
In position to take over the gavel in 2022, the donations are pouring in to ensure he stays in office.
While many thought his association with Trump would hurt him, McCarthy has raked in almost $58 million over the first nine months of the year, breaking his 2019 record of $41.6 million.
Take Back the House
Times are tough, but you would never know if from the hauls Republicans are taking in right now.
Conservatives want no excuses for Republicans to take Congress back, so they are writing checks and writing a lot of them.
According to reports, McCarthy had more than 40,000 donors for his third-quarter donations.
With almost $15 million pouring in, that is a fairly hefty donation of about $370 per donor, which is rather astonishing considering the state of the economy.
After reporting was made public, McCarthy stated, “I want to thank all our contributors who helped make this a record-breaking quarter. With 13 months to go, the contrast is stark — Republicans nationwide are fired up to take back the House, while Democrats are running for the exits.”
He also addressed the fact that Democrats who have rarely faced serious challenges will see them in big numbers in 2022.
McCarthy stated, “With a record number of Republicans filing to run, it Is clear our movement is more united and energized than ever before.
“Working together, I’m confident we will take back the House convincingly next November.”
With every passing day, the situation for Republicans looks better and better.
In a typical midterm, after a party change, the sitting party will lose about 25 seats.
Considering how horribly Joe Biden is polling and the fact Republicans only need a handful of seats to flip the House and one seat to flip the Senate, the future is looking great for the Good Old Party right now.
