Republicans could have dealt Joe Biden and Democrats a death blow.
Six progressives had backed off their support of the bipartisan infrastructure bill that is heavily weighted to blue states and pet programs.
The bill would have failed had Republicans held the line, but 13 GOP House members, several of them who are retiring, crossed the line and supported the bill, thumbing their noses at conservatives and handing Joe Biden a massive win.

Support for this bill had changed dramatically from the time that Senator McConnell (R-KY) led an effort in the Senate to get this bill passed.
Even then, most Republicans were against the bill because much of the funding was tagged for things other than actual infrastructure.
Additionally, the spending was very much weighted towards bailing our blue states.
For instance, New York is getting more than 10 percent of the overall bill, which is utterly ridiculous.
After the bill was passed, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) had no problem spilling the names of the 13 Republicans who betrayed We the People…
These are the 13 “Republicans” who handed over their voting cards to Nancy Pelosi to pass Joe Biden’s Communist takeover of America via so-called infrastructure:
Katko
Bacon
Van Drew
Young
Upton
Kinzinger
Gonzalez (OH)
Reed
Smith
Gabarino
Malliotakis
Fitzpatrick
McKinley— Marjorie Taylor Greene 🇺🇸 (@mtgreenee) November 6, 2021
If you look down that list, several of those names have already decided to retire from Congress, so this was like flipping off conservatives one last time before they clean out their office.
Most conservatives are all for spending on infrastructure, something that has been ignored for far too long in this country.
However, when the primary benefactors are blue states and the additional money gets tagged for Democrat pet projects, well, that is something we cannot get behind.
Passing this legislation was a huge mistake and it is one that will come back to haunt Republicans.
We had Joe Biden and Democrats on the ropes, yet 13 Republicans decided to ring the bell and end the round early.
