Texas Democrats, rather than debate new Texas legislation on voting reform, decided to run away.
Dozens of state House Democrats boarded chartered planes and fled to DC.
This drew the ire of not only Texas Republicans but the move has been widely criticized in the media as well, with Fox News’ Brit Hume calling the move “absurd.”
It’s Just Absurd
The funniest part about this entire incident is that these Democrats do not even realize how hypocritical they are when you pair their words with their actions.
Hume nailed it, stating, “You can’t, on the one hand, shut down the actions of the elected representatives of the people in the state of Texas and then turn around and argue to the nation that you’re defending democracy.
“It’s absurd on its face, laughable really and made the more so by the scene on the airplane with them all smiling maskless … this is too good to be true. It’s just precious.”
Democrats are truly panicking on this front right now, with even Joe Biden making a last-minute trip to Philadelphia in protest of a vote audit being conducted in the state of Pennsylvania.
One cannot help but ask why Democrats are so afraid of voters having to prove who they are before pulling that handle.
