It’s literally the perfect example of what happens when your government is Communist.

The Cuban government has arrested a human rights activist for attempting to celebrate Cuba’s independence from Spain.

May 20, 2022 marks 120 years since the Cuban revolution overthrew the rule of Spain in the country.

So while the government of Cuba wanted to be free of the Spanish oppressing them, but do not want their own people to be able to live freely.

Human rights activist Agustín López Canino was arrested for attempting to attend an event that he himself had organized to support the independence of Cuba.

The Cuban government had a clear message:

Freedom is not celebrated here.

Agustín López Canino learned the hard way.

The Cuban government spun the story that they “intercepted” Canino on his way to peacefully protest for “the rights of the people and freedom for political prisoners sentenced for participating in the civil protests on July 11, 2021.”

Of course they did. The Cuban government can’t have its citizens finding out how great freedom would be.
