Jackson Pushes Back Against Soft on Child Porn Accusations from GOP

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has had her record on child porn cases scrutinized by the GOP.

Jackson has given softer sentences to those not directly involved in the production of pornography, trying to differentiate the different aspects of the industry.

She was given a chance to respond to the accusations by Republicans on Tuesday in a strategy by Judiciary Chair Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) to humanize her and draw more empathy.

Not About Feelings

When Durbin opened up the session, he asked Jackson to comment on how she and her family felt about the challenges to her record by the GOP Senators on the committee.

She responded, “As a mother and a judge who has had to deal with these cases, I was thinking that nothing could be further from the truth.”

She then went on to say how she addresses these individuals during sentencing.

Jackson, in part, stated, “I tell them about the adults who are former child sex abuse victims, tell me that they will never have a normal adult relationship because of this abuse.

“I tell them about the ones who say, ‘I went into prostitution, I fell into drugs because I was trying to suppress the hurt that was done to me as an as an infant.'”

She delivered her response with a cracking voice, just so everyone would feel bad about the line of questioning.

I would ask Durbin why he did not ask Amy Coney Barrett that same question when Democrats shredded her during her confirmation hearings.

This is not about feelings… it is about record and if the potential justice will respect the rule of law and our Constitution.

Jackson’s record on that is not exactly stellar and if I had a vote on this committee, it would be a hard no.

It remains baffling to me that Biden put Jackson out there instead of Childs.

Childs was far from perfect from a conservative standpoint, but my objections to her were far more limited than they are of Jackson.

Childs would have easily garnered 60 or more votes, whereas Jackson will probably see no more than two or three Republican votes.

My guess here is that Biden wanted this controversy to portray Republicans as racists, and that is exactly what is happening.

The left is defending Jackson not on her actual record but by accusing Republicans of daring to challenge her because she is a black woman.

They want this divide… they need this divide… more importantly, the Democrat Party thrives on this divide.
