We’ve known about it for a while now, but the official confirmation has come straight from the horse’s mouth:
White House press secretary Jen Psaki says that May 13, 2022 will be her last day on the job.
Deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been picked to replace Psaki.
Some additional detail on this historic day. @POTUS asked @KJP46 if she would serve as the next @PressSec in the oval office this afternoon.

“I can’t wait to see her shine as she brings her own style, brilliance and grace to the podium,” Psaki said on Twitter.
She added that Jean-Pierre “has a moral core that makes her not just a great colleague, but an amazing Mom and human.”
Joe Biden wanted to thank Psaki for her “service to the country” before she left.
“Jen Psaki has set the standard for returning decency, respect and decorum to the White House Briefing Room,” Dirty Joe said. “I thank Jen her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward.”
Jean-Pierre is breaking ground on multiple fronts, becoming both the first black woman and the first lesbian to serve as the White House press secretary.
Big news: Karine Jean-Pierre has been named White House Press Secretary, the first Black woman and first out LGBTQ person in the role! Congrats @K_JeanPierre! https://t.co/XlxlcC6XzB
