We all know this administration hates the fossil fuel industry.
While much of the recent attention has focused on the oil and gas industry, John Kerry just lobbed a bomb at the coal industry.
Coal has officially been put on notice that this administration would like coal completely gone by 2030.
End It
Kerry was speaking at the COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow when he made his comments
He stated, “By 2030 in the United States, we won’t have coal.
“We will not have coal plants.”
That means that roughly 43,000 people will lose their jobs if this administration has its way, primarily in purple and red states.
Not quite as devasting as the gas and oil industry, but when you consider how localized the coal industry is, it will devastate the economy of a handful of states.
Kerry made another statement that does not bode well for the fossil fuel industry overall,
He stated, “We’re saying we are going to be carbon-free in the power sector by 2035.
“I think that’s leadership. I think that’s indicative of what we can do.”
That means fifteen years to convert completely over to renewable energy.
California has been chasing renewable energy as its primary source for almost two decades, and we see the problems that state has every year during peak demand months.
Now imagine that on a much larger scale where states have more fluctuating weather.
What do you think is going to happen in a state like Minnesota in the dead of winter?
How about Texas during the dog days of summer?
This is simply not realistic and these idiots have to be stopped.
That happens in 2022 when Republicans can take back Congress and turn Biden into a lame duck to stop this madness.
