The Biden administration’s immigration plan just took a massive blow.
On Friday, a federal judge ordered a halt to the continuation of applications for the DACA program started under Barack Obama.
According to the Texas judge, the program is illegal and must be halted.
Since Obama implemented the program, it is estimated that roughly 700,000 illegals were granted amnesty under the program.
Judge Andrew Hanen, a George W. Bush appointee, has now put all their futures in peril, as well as the hundreds of thousands of additional illegals that have been deemed eligible for the program.
Judge Hanen has ruled that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) overstepped its authority via the Administrative Procedure Act when it created the policy.
Hanen stated that the order was implemented unlawfully and must be ceased immediately.
Hanen wrote, “DACA would grant lawful presence and work authorization to over a million people for whom Congress had made no provision and has consistently refused to make such a provision.”
His ruling falls in line with the stance Republicans have taken from the outset regarding the program.
The decision was not received well by illegal immigration advocates…
We're currently reading the ruling thoroughly before commenting (it's 77 pages long) and will share our thoughts as soon as possible.
One thing that's certain is that Congress needs to act with immediacy.
DACA recipients and their families have dealt with enough uncertainty!

What is really interesting about this is that if Hanen’s decision holds up, where does that leave all those that have already been granted amnesty?
Will they now be deported or will their amnesty, which would one then easily make the argument was given illegally, be rescinded?
Regardless, right now, this is a huge win for conservatives.
This ruling will surely be challenged and possibly find its way to the Supreme Court, which would be a legacy decision for Donald Trump.
