Judge Rules Against Trump in NY Investigation

Donald Trump has suffered yet another significant loss before a New York judge.

Judge Arthur Engoron has ruled that Donald Trump must testify under oath in the New York Attorney General’s investigation of his business practices.

Trump can still escalate this, but he is unlikely to see a different ruling in the New York judiciary.

Must Testify

Trump has been fighting the NY AG investigation since its onset.

According to Trump, he has done nothing illegal, and this is nothing more than a political attack to prevent him from running for office again in 2024.

In addition to Trump, Judge Engoron ruled that two of the Trump children must also testify.

Trump has also maintained that any statements made could be used against him or his children in a criminal probe, but the judge disagreed.

The ruling stated, “The existence of a criminal investigation does not preclude civil discovery of related facts, at which a party may exercise the privilege against self-incrimination.”

Here is the thing… If he decides to run, Trump cannot afford to have these investigations hanging over his head during a presidential election.

The clock on that is ticking and it expires in about six months.

If Trump has nothing to hide, cooperate with the investigation and get it over with to put all of this in the rearview mirror before it is time to concentrate on the presidential election.

If voters think he could go down in one of these investigations, even his most diehard supporters will wonder if putting him on the ticket would be wise.
