Donald Trump’s problems in New York just got ramped up a bit.
After Trump failed to meet a March 31 deadline, Attorney General Letitia James filed a motion to find Trump in contempt.
The motion has now been granted, with Trump ordered to pay $10,000 per day until he delivers the requested documentation.
Pay Up, Donnie
Trump really cannot catch a break right now.
Last week, audio was revealed that showed one of Trump’s biggest supporters in the House, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), blasting Trump to Republican leadership over the January 6 riot and his alleged role in it.
This week, New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron ruled against him on the filing made by James’ office.
Judge Engoron stated, “Mr. Trump, I know you take your business seriously, and I take mine seriously. I hereby hold you in civil contempt and fine you $10,000 a day.”
James could not wait to post her victory on Twitter…
#BREAKING: In a major victory, a court has ruled in our favor to hold Donald Trump in contempt of court.
Donald Trump must pay $10,000 per day for every day that he continues to defy the court's order to turn over documents to my office. https://t.co/AFAPPrnce4

Despite James slapping herself on the back, this investigation has yet to turn up anything serious.
It does, however, remind voters that if Trump winds up being the nominee for the 2024 cycle, it will be four more years of unending drama, as the Democrats will throw everything they have at him to get him removed from office.
