The Washington Examiner may have made a rather brutal mistake.

The publication did what it has often criticized other publications of doing.

It jumped the gun in judging testimony given during the January 6 Select Committee hearing without waiting for the information to be verified.

Now, while I would not call the Washington Examiner a pro-Trump publication, it has been very fair throughout his presidency.

It has criticized Trump for making mistakes and applauded him when he did not.

An editorial has been published that reached the same conclusion I did after hearing Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony… it was very compelling.

However, it went a step further and concluded, “Trump is a disgrace. Republicans have far better options to lead the party in 2024.

“No one should think otherwise, much less support him, ever again.”

Before the ink was even dry on that editorial, Hutchinson’s testimony was refuted by the very people she cited.

Listen, we all know Trump has a temper, so that aspect of her testimony was nothing new, but the most damning parts, the throwing of the food, the lunging for the wheel, the lunging at agents, all appears to have been made up.

I have often stated that if Trump runs for office, the election will be far closer than if Ron DeSantis runs, as there are conservatives that will never vote for Trump.

After hearing this testimony refuted, that may start to change, however.

People are beginning to realize that anti-Trumpers and Democrats will go to any lengths to stop Trump from running again.

At what point do you start to wonder what they are so afraid of?

The Washington Examiner editors should have waited… now they have some serious egg on their face, so I am curious to see if they stand by that editorial or if they pull it.
