Jamal Simmons, Vice President Kamala Harris’ new communications director, is having problems right out of the gate.
Simmons made some statements on illegal immigration several years ago that advocates did not perceive well.
Even though he apologized for the comments, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA) is now refusing to meet with him.
Not Happening
The comments made by Simmons were made more than a decade ago.
In 2010, Simmons watched an interview on TV that had two illegal immigrants.
He asked a very legitimate question.
If they were illegal and we knew it, why was ICE not picking them up right at the spot of the interview…

The comments rubbed people who do not respect our immigration laws, including an individual paid to uphold our laws, Rep. Correa.
After the tweet was unsurfaced, Correa stated, “The deep concern to me is this may show his true disposition when it comes to immigration.”
What does he mean? That Simmons actually expected our immigration laws to be upheld?
He continued, “That’s what my concern is. A meeting is not going to change my mind or give me peace of mind one way or the other.
“Everybody changes. I think Mr. Simmons, like I, we all change our predisposition, our perspective on issues, and you know what, I think actions speak louder than words.”
Simmons, now in Harris’ camp, of course, apologized for asking the question in the first place…

This entire scenario is terrifying, when you think about it.
A member of Congress literally shames someone for expecting laws to be upheld.
That is about all you need to know of today’s Democrat Party.
