You mean you cannot just hang up a sign and crime goes away?
There are no safe zones anymore… and this murder is a painful reminder of that.
A “no-crime zone” was the site of a horrific murder this weekend in Los Angeles.
The NOT No-crime Zone
Marcos Sandoval was walking his dog early Saturday morning when the murder took place.
At an intersection in what residents are calling a no-crime zone, a car approaches the intersection where Sandoval and his dog are.
Someone gets out of the car and exchanges words with Sandoval.
The individual then opens fire and flees the scene.
About 45 minutes later, a neighbor saw Sandoval and called 9-1-1.
The dog was not injured and made it back home safely.
A neighbor in the area stated, “I woke up maybe like 5:30 and heard two men talking loudly, arguing.
“Then my dog and cat woke up and a few minutes — maybe five minutes — went by, then I heard two gunshots. I didn’t know they were gunshots at the time.”
Sandoval’s daughter was obviously distraught, stating, “We don’t know why someone would just target him.
“He would always put me and my sister first before anyone and it’s just not fair that they just took him away from us like that.”
Police have no motive for the killing, also stating that this neighborhood is very quiet with no significant crime patterns in the area.
