Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) got it wrong.
He was not supposed to use reconciliation, but he did, and we are now paying the price for it.
At the time, Manchin said the relief was needed and it would not cause inflation, but it did.
Now he wants us to take his word on it that he is right this time.
They Know Nothing
Let’s be serious… most members of Congress are fiscal idiots.
Few have ever had to live in the real world where you have to balance the budget and do not get to print money when you need it.
Congress is trusted with the financial health of this country, and we are tens of trillions in debt, yet they want us to trust them more.
On his latest bill, Manchin stated, “I’ll make sure I don’t make that mistake again.
“Bottom line, I’ll make sure I didn’t make that mistake again.”
That, in essence, was Manchin admitting that he got it wrong last time, and he is going to get it wrong again.
The Wharton Business School already broke down the package and said that if anything, this new legislation will create price increases, so, yes, it will contribute to inflation.
Manchin claims that it closes loopholes, but what it really does is pass taxes down to the average American when we are already getting clobbered.
