Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser is officially overwhelmed.
She has now had a few thousand illegals dumped into her city, less than what Texas usually sees in a single day, and she is calling for reinforcement, again.
And, again, the Biden Pentagon has told her, “No.”
Not Happening
There are several problems with Bowser’s request and why it is being denied.
First, the National Guard is not an escort service for illegal immigrants.
Second, and more importantly, Biden has painted himself into a corner on the “crisis” aspect of the border issue.
They deny it is a crisis, and the Guard only gets activated during a crisis.
The point is that if the Pentagon approves the Guard, it is admitting to a crisis, which will never happen.
Defense Department executive secretary Kelly Bulliner Holly responded to the most recent request by Bowser.
Holly wrote, “The DCNG has no specific experience in or training for this kind of mission or unique skills for providing facility management, feeding, sanitation or ground support.
“Approval of this request would also result in a substantial readiness impact to the DCNG.
“Devoting the personnel or the facility for such an extended mission would force the cancellation or disruption of military training.”
In all, about 7,000 illegals have been sent to DC, that’s it; that is what this panic is all about.
Abbott took a victory lap, stating, “Before we began busing migrants to New York, it was just Texas and Arizona that bore the brunt of all the chaos and problems that come with it.
“Now, the rest of America can understand exactly what is going on.”
Bowser hit back, claiming it is nothing more than a political stunt, tweeting, “We struggle with a broken immigration system in our country, and we know that cities alone cannot fix it.
“We will continue working with federal partners and local NGOs on the best way to set up systems that allow us to manage an ongoing humanitarian crisis.”
As a Texan, Bowser will get no sympathy from me… keep sending those buses Governor Abbott!
