Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas was back on the Hill this week.
While being questioned by Senator Kennedy (R-LA), Mayorkas made a rather stunning admission.
According to Mayorkas, he was completely unaware of Nina Jankowicz’s bizarre social media posts.
What Vetting?
So, it is hard for me to believe that the vetting process for a high-level government position does not involve a social media check.
I have interviewed for small and large companies alike, and one of the first things the HR department does is check social media accounts.
One would think that since Jankowicz has been charged with monitoring disinformation, social media posts would be at the top of the list for Mayorkas to have checked.
That, however, is not the case.
When questioned by Senator Kennedy, Mayorkas claimed he knew nothing of her posts.
Time and again, he has a repetitive answer, stating, “Senator, let me repeat myself and add an additional fact.
“One, we do not discuss internal hiring processes.
“Two, I was not aware of that fact.
“Three, as the secretary of homeland security I am responsible for the decisions of the department, and it is my understanding that Ms. Jankowicz is a subject-matter expert in the field in which she will be working on behalf of the department.”
So, Mayorkas is either lying or he is utterly clueless about how to do his job.
Either way, he needs to be removed from office.
