Democrats on House Speaker Pelosi’s January 6 Committee are making their moves against top Republican allies of Trump.
House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) has been added to the list of members of Congress the committee wants to interview.
Just as Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) did before him, McCarthy has told the committee to go pound sand.

Pelosi’s committee is looking to make some splashy headlines right now.
With Joe Biden reeling and House Democrats fleeing, they have to do something to flip the cycle.
That something seems to be to try to take out all the influential members of the party by tying them to the riot on January 6.
So far, Republicans have put up a roadblock to prevent the Dems from getting any momentum.
Thus far, the committee has come up with nothing.
Actually, it has embarrassed itself by regularly leaking information while at the same time selectively editing the information to make it appear far more nefarious than it was.
McCarthy is now the latest high-profile Republican to get called…
The Select Committee is seeking information from Rep. McCarthy about the violence of January 6th.

McCarthy will not give them the satisfaction of getting him on the stand.
He stated, “As a representative and the leader of the minority party, it is with neither regret nor satisfaction that I have concluded to not participate with this select committee’s abuse of power that stains this institution today and will harm it going forward.”
McCarthy added, “This committee is not conducting a legitimate investigation as Speaker Pelosi took the unprecedented action of rejecting the Republican members I named to serve on the committee.
“It is not serving any legislative purpose.
“The committee’s only objective is to attempt to damage its political opponents – acting like the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee one day and the DOJ the next.”

This will likely wind up as a legal battle, but it is tough to see Democrats coming out on top of this one.
That will not stop them from dragging this out and making some prime-time appearances with some dramatic testimony.
This is their only shot at flipping the news cycle, so they will work it for every drop possible.
