House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was forced to make a massive reversal in his stance on his criticisms of Donald Trump regarding the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

After initially denying he made the comments, McCarthy has done a complete reversal here and grabbed the bull by the horns.

The majority of the party bought it, giving him a standing ovation and backing him for leadership.

I am not so sure, however.

He’s Good

I understand that the leaks were very carefully released to give the worst bits of information.

I even stated in one report that some of what was in those audiotapes had already been made public.

My problem, however, is that McCarthy blatantly lied and denied having said any of it after the print report came out, only to be proven a liar by the tapes.

McCarthy has reportedly made nice with Trump, and now he has also talked to GOP House members.

He reportedly received a “standing ovation” by members, with numerous coming out after the meeting saying he has their full backing for leadership once Republicans take back the House.

Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) added, “He addressed them and I think the conference is satisfied.”

Well, I am not… he lied, period.

McCarthy stood up in front of the American people and stated that everything in the report was false when he could have just as easily stated that he did say those things, but they were taken out of context, something that he would be more than happy to explain.

So, instead of holding him accountable, the entire GOP is now hailing him as some sort of hero for deceiving We the People.

I may be in a small minority of conservatives here, but I cannot get behind a man for leadership when he obviously cannot be trusted to be honest with us.

I want to hear from you guys on this… would you prefer someone else to be voted into leadership over McCarthy or are you okay with him blatantly lying to us regarding his comments?
