Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) once again finds herself under full attack from some of her fellow Republicans.
This time, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) is also facing down the same attack.
House Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has asked House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to have both Republicans removed from the Republican conference.
We Don’t Want Them
Kinzinger and Cheney did the unthinkable earlier this year.
They both accepted committee assignments from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) rather than their own party leader.
In an effort to make her January 6 Select Committee appear bipartisan, Pelosi put both Republicans on the committee.
The kicker was that both had already voted to impeach Trump and were among the most vocal anti-Trumpers in the party leading up to that point.
Point being, Pelosi knew they would do everything in their power to push her desired narrative when they took these appointments.
Biggs now wants them both removed, claiming they are now working for Pelosi rather than the Republican Party and its constituents.
In part, Biggs’ letter stated, “Congresswoman Cheney and Congressman Kinzinger are two spies for the Democrats that we currently invite to the meetings, despite our inability to trust them.”
He added, “We cannot trust these Members to sit in our Republican Conference meetings while we plan our defense against the Democrats.”
Kinzinger seems like a lock to lose his seat and Cheney is going to be fought hard during the primary.
However, both seem dead set on giving Pelosi everything she wants to help ensure Trump is never able to run for office in this country again.
McCarthy has not yet commented on the request by Biggs.
