When the pandemic started, the media fully bought into all of the lockdown measures that Democrats were pushing.
Conservatives, however, pushed back from the outset, especially regarding the closings of schools and moving learning remote.
The one thing that most of us cited was the need for children to be interactive with other children.
Well, the media has finally had its wake-up call.
Crushing Policies
In all honesty, the closing of schools never made sense.
When it was time for kids to go back to school during the early days of the pandemic, there were already studies available in the UK that showed how little impact this virus was having on children.
Furthermore, we also knew closing schools should have been a last resort, as the mental toll it can take on children is devastating.
These younger years are critical to a child’s development, and here we were locking them up in rooms, handing them a computer, and telling them to deal with it.
This week on “Face the Nation,” the media finally realized how these continued lockdowns and school closures impact this nation’s children.
CBS News’ Jan Crawford led the charge, stating, “My kids hear me rant about this everyday, so I may as well tell you guys.
“It’s the crushing impact that our COVID policies have had on young kids and children, by far the least serious risk for serious illness.”
She added, “They have suffered and sacrificed the most, especially kids in underrepresented, at-risk communities.
“And now we have the surgeon general saying there’s a mental health crisis among our kids.
“The risk of suicide attempts among girls now up 51% this year.
“Black kids nearly twice as likely as White kids to die by suicide.
“I mean school closures, lockdowns, cancellation of sports.
“You couldn’t even go on a playground in the D.C. area without cops shooing the kids off.
“Tremendous negative impact on kids, and it’s been an afterthought. It’s hurt their dreams, their future, learning loss, risk of abuse, their mental health.”

It’s a little late, but welcome to the party, Ms. Crawford.
The scary thing here is that some Democrat mayors are already talking about closing down schools again this winter due to the Omicron variant.
All we are doing is raising a generation of completely broken and damaged children.
