Miami Beach Democrat Mayor Spreads DeSantis Lies on CNN

The media in the United States used to pride itself on real-time corrections during interviews.

Conflicting arguments were permitted, but news hosts would immediately call out any flagrantly false statements to ensure viewers were getting accurate information.

That all went out the window with Trump in office, and it has continued to this day, especially on CNN.

The network has regularly targeted Governor Ron DeSantis, and what it permitted the Democrat Mayor of Miami Beach to say is simply unforgivable.

It’s Just Wrong

There is a significant difference between being anti-vaccine and anti-mandate.

Trump dealt with this problem throughout his presidency.

He was regularly accused of being anti-vaccine when it was his administration that cleared the way for a vaccine to be brought to market so quickly.

With Trump gone, the media refocused its attention with the same narrative to Governor Ron DeSantis.

It has gotten so bad, CNN gave a pulpit to Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, who blatantly lied about DeSantis on this front and was never corrected.

Gelber stated, “Well, as most people know, our state leaders have been more interested really in stopping people from having to get the vaccine than they have in urging them to get it. So there’s very little we can do.

“There’s not a whole lot we can do in Florida because the legislature and governor have outlawed vaccine mandates and outlawed even mask mandates in certain areas by government and elsewhere.”

Rather than push back, CNN’s Avlon asked, “Do you think then that Gov. DeSantis has effectively made this pandemic worse in the state of Florida and in your city?”

Gelber then added, “There’s no question that by deciding that, you know, we’re trying to get herd immunity by letting the herd catch the virus has just lengthened the virus. It allowed these variants to sort of come back.

“I don’t think there’s any question that Florida has handled it poorly.”

Everything Gelber said, and I mean EVERYTHING, is a complete lie.

DeSantis has openly encouraged everyone to get the vaccine.

Not only that, he has helped pave the way for COVID treatments to help those that have been infected recover.

The problem here is that Gelber wants DeSantis to force people to take the vaccine, something he is not willing to do, so now he spews lies about how DeSantis has handled the pandemic.

All the attacks that Trump faced in 2020 will now be directed at DeSantis, as Democrats and the media hope to knock him out of office and prevent him from being re-elected.

Most of us would argue that DeSantis had the best response to the virus of anyone.

He was the only governor who managed to keep his state open throughout the pandemic, thriving when other states went bankrupt.

Do you think the media will do to DeSantis in 2022 what they did to Trump in 2020?

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
