Noem Sets Fundraising Record After Campaign Announcement

There have been a lot of attacks from both sides of the aisle against South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as of late.

So, it was no gimme that she would get overwhelming support in her re-election campaign.

However, we can put that notion to rest as Noem almost doubled previous fundraising highs after announcing her re-election campaign.

Big Day

The previous record for a single-day event in the state was $170,000.

So, how much did Noem rake in on her first day?

How about $330,000!

Noem has been a strong fundraiser ever since her first run in 2018.

She has raked in an impressive $10 million and still has about $6.5 million on hand to defend her office.

Campaign manager, Joe Desilets, stated, “Governor Noem’s historic fundraising in South Dakota is a direct result of her strong conservative leadership.

“We’re seeing in South Dakota what happens when you keep your word to the voters that elected you: Governor Noem has an 86% approval among South Dakota Republicans, is one of the most popular governors up for re-election in 2022, and this support has led to record-setting in-state fundraising.”

Noem remains atop the list of favorites for the 2024 presidential race, but she is unlikely to win at this point.

The general consensus is that if Trump announces, everyone else of note will bow out and let him have a revenge match against Joe Biden.

If Trump decides to bow out, I would fully expect Governor Ron DeSantis to get the nod.

However, as a VP, regardless of who wins, Noem is easily a top contender in a field that likely includes Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Nikki Haley.

Regardless of how 2024 turns out, Noem will be a frontrunner in 2028 or 2032, depending upon whom gets the nod in 2024.
