The assault against our men and women in blue continues, only now they are getting far bolder.
Miami-Dade released a video of a brutal assault of an officer.
This time, however, the assault took place right inside the police station.
Booking Gone Bad
I have a brother that is a former police officer.
He actually worked in booking for a period, so I have heard the stories of how prisoners sometimes go off the rails inside the station.
However, of all the stories he told me, I have never heard him describe anything like what you are about to see in this video.
After being fingerprinted, the suspect was given several verbal commands by the officer.
The suspect appears to ignore the commands, at which time the suspect and officer have moved to the corner of the room.
That is when everything goes sideways.
Somehow, the suspect gets the upper hand on the officer and begins to carry out an absolutely brutal beating of the officer.
At one point, it appears as though the suspect is holding the officer up so he can continue to beat on him.
Finally, another officer shows up and is able to drag the suspect off what appears to be an unconscious officer and gets control of the suspect…

Along with the video of the assault, Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez stated, “The continued violence against our law enforcement officers is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“We must come together as one to protect our community and our police officers from those that chose to engage in vicious acts.”
Two things are apparent from this video…
There is a massive lack of respect for police.
Second, these officers need to be better trained, period.
There is no way a suspect in custody should ever be able to get the upper hand on an officer in that situation.
For many of these officers, their first “stressful” situation happens while on duty, and that is simply unacceptable.
Times have dramatically changed over the last decade, so these officers need to be tried and tested long before they ever hit the streets.
We know criminals will not suddenly change their ways, so these officers must be ready and truly prepared for any situation.
We should not be defunding police but instead increasing both funding and training to ensure these criminals never get the upper hand on them in these types of situations.
