It would appear as though members of the Republican Party are trying to take out one of their own.
Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) has gone from rising star to embarrassment for the Republican Party.
Recent vacation photos of his were leaked out of context, which will not help his case.
He’s Out
Even before these pictures were released, I think Cawthorn was in trouble.
He recently got popped by police for a license violation after a suspected DUI stop.
He apparently made up stories about congressional members to the point House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA) openly reprimanded him.
On a personal level, he and his wife recently announced that they were getting a divorce.
On top of all that, pictures were leaked of the young congressman wearing women’s lingerie.
The photos were leaked to Politico and published (link at the bottom of the page to see pictures).
Out of context, the pictures are pretty bad, especially when you consider that Cawthorn has been very vocal regarding perversion running rampant on the Hill.
In context, they are no big deal.
As it turns out, the pictures were taken during a Royal Caribbean Cruise game show called “Quest.”
Cawthorn sent out a blast on Twitter to rip the leaking of the photos and the sensationalizing of them…
I guess the left thinks goofy vacation photos during a game on a cruise (taken waaay before I ran for Congress) is going to somehow hurt me?

I am not sure that will matter, however, as voters and his fellow Republicans are growing tired of the non-stop drama that seems to be coming from him lately.
It is just tough to imagine Cawthorn getting re-elected at this point.
