On Thursday, House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) announced a special committee is being formed.
She is going to create a select committee to investigate the riot at the Capitol on January 6.
The new committee will put all the current House Democrat investigations into the riot under one umbrella.

To appreciate the irony of all of this, we need to backtrack to Tuesday afternoon.
Reports started to circulate on Tuesday that Pelosi was putting together this very select committee.
When the news started to travel, Pelosi went off, calling the rumors a “false report.”
It now appears she was only putting out the fire so she could get some camera time herself.
Putting her best sad face on, Pelosi stated, “This morning, with great solemnity and sadness, I’m announcing that the House will be establishing a select committee on the January 6 insurrection.
“The select committee will investigate and report on the facts and the causes of the attack and it will report recommendations for the prevention of any future attack.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) responded to the announcement, stating, “I’m sure it will be political because that’s the whole way that she’s handled it.”
And he is right… this will be a political hit job to go after Trump and the bias will be very evident when all is said and done.
The bottom line here is that most Republicans were on board with some type of investigation as long as the scope looked at the underlying causes of the riot, meaning going back months rather than just the day of events.
Pelosi did this because even her own comments would have been cited as adding fuel to the fire that burnt out of control on January 6.
Pelosi, Waters, AOC, Kamala Harris, and even Joe Biden made statements that started to get conservatives riled up long before January 6 rolled around on the calendar.
There is simply no way anyone will be able to take the report that comes from this committee seriously because it will only have one end game… to destroy Donald Trump.
