The Pentagon has been all over the place on Russia and Ukraine as of late.
For weeks, we heard that an invasion was imminent.
This week, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby removed that word from his vocabulary.
Now, Kirby has reversed and is pushing a Russian invasion again, this time citing a false flag operation to justify an invasion.
New Narrative
According to the Pentagon, Russia is about to launch a false flag to get the party started.
Kirby stated, “We do have information that the Russians are likely to want to fabricate a pretext for an invasion, which, again, is right out of their playbook.”
Kirby went on to explain that Russia was going to “stage a fake attack by Ukrainian military or intelligence forces against Russian sovereign territory or against Russian-speaking people to therefore justify their action as part of this fake attack.”
He continued, “We believe that Russia would produce a very graphic propaganda video, which would include corpses and actors that would be depicting mourners, and images of destroyed locations, as well as military equipment, at the hands of Ukraine, or the West.”
Adding, “This is just one example.
“We’re watching this across the board.
“We’ve seen these kinds of activity by the Russians in the past.”
The Washington Post has also reported that this plan was approved at the top levels of the Russian government.
Russia, of course, denies the reports.
